Meet the team

Here's the bears! (From right to left James, Jonny & John)

James (Head Bear)

- I started Green Bear Landscaping in 2004 after deciding to step away from the corporate world, and have never looked back. I always felt I should be working with my hands and doing something outdoors. Having previously had years of experience working on estates and for other landscaping companies, I felt the time was right. I have a keen eye for detail and pride myself on my work. I am a creative soul so designing gardens came naturally, I love my job as every day is different, you meet wonderful people along the way and get huge enjoyment from seeing the transformation and what it means to our customers.

Jonny Rhodes (Site Manager)

  - Jonny is our site manager and works very closely with myself and our customers to ensure smooth running during the build. Over the years he has become a skilled landscaper with an incredible work ethic. He always brings a smile to our customers' faces and is the friendliest bear you will meet, even on the worst days you will see Jonny laughing and smiling, and keeping the team in good spirits.

John O'Brien (Soft landscaping & planting specialist)

 - John has been working outdoors with nature his whole life and has a real passion for horticulture and wildlife. Over the years John has worked with lawn care specialists and maintenance companies and has gained qualifications in tree surgery so his knowledge is an essential part of the team. John now not only assists with garden builds but helps with the planting plans and is looking to start a design course in the near future.

Tessa Tricks (Garden Design)

 - Tessa has a passion for ecologically minded design. Following 13 years in sustainable food and farming, she pursued horticulture with the ambition to make more of our gardens a space for joy, and restoration
She holds a professional D
iploma in Garden Design from the Bristol Garden Design School, where she graduated with distinction. She has Level 2 Qualifications from the RHS and is currently undertaking a Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design and an MA in Landscape Architecture. She has spent time living in Tokyo and studied Japanese garden design. Subsequently, she enjoys making the very most of small spaces, as well as gardens which work for both people and nature.

She helps the Bears with garden and planting design and loves nothing more than meeting new people to kick off the garden transformation journey.
