'Outdoor Living'

This project presented an exciting opportunity to design and construct a bespoke outdoor cooking and living space within a generous private garden in Eastfield, Bristol.

 

From the outset, our clients had a clear and confident vision, allowing us to deliver a cohesive design that balances functionality, craftsmanship, and refined aesthetics. The layout centres around a cedar hot tub, elegantly positioned on a sweeping, curved Millboard deck that naturally guides the eye and movement through the space. This transitions seamlessly onto a feature patio, thoughtfully proportioned to accommodate both relaxed lounging and social dining, set across premium sandstone paving.

 

At the heart of the garden sits a handcrafted oak pergola, creating a striking architectural focal point while providing shelter for a fully equipped outdoor kitchen. This well-considered cooking area includes a large ceramic barbecue, pizza oven, integrated fridges, storage drawers, outdoor heater, Bluetooth sound system, and a neatly incorporated log store. The bespoke concrete worktops were cast and hand-polished on site, delivering a tactile, contemporary finish that sits beautifully atop a natural stone base.

 

The space is enhanced further by a carefully planned lighting scheme, installed by Essem Electrical, Bristol, ensuring both atmosphere and usability into the evening. A living roof crowns the structure, softening the architecture and blending it into the surrounding landscape, while a detailed planting scheme completes the design, adding texture, colour, and seasonal interest.

 

The result is a refined and highly functional outdoor living environment—an exceptional space designed for entertaining, relaxation, and year-round enjoyment, and one we are immensely proud to have delivered.
